The Leaderless Team

Client: International Hi-tech Manufacturer

Need: A team manager within the organisation had left and the team needed to become more pro-active. The functional Director attended one of our courses and asked us to coach him in how to best handle the situation.

Solution: After two executive coaching sessions for the Director, we facilitated a half-day session for the team, providing them with group problem-solving techniques and helping them create an action list of how they would improve the profile and outcomes of their team.

Outcomes:

  • Group-working skills for the team

  • Action plan with quick wins and longer-term goals identified

  • Raised profile for the department within the company

  • Director's time and energy freed up to deal with other issues

“It was an amazing afternoon – phrases such as 'greatly increased in confidence', 'improved self-awareness', 'ability to understand change', 'development of coping skills' and 'improved self-esteem' were evident” -Jane Breeze, HR Manager, Opportunity Housing Trust
