Client: International Distribution Services Group Need: The company had established a Works Council to improve employee involvement and advise management on employee issues. The HR manager asked us to help provide skills that would make the Works Council more effective. Solution: Two sessions designed and delivered covering confidence building, communication styles, problem-solving and assertiveness. Outcomes: better team working within the Works Council better communications between members and their colleagues reduced need for HR manager's time to explain decisions greater sense among workforce of value of Works Council, leading to more co-operative working environment
